Venezuelans Must ACT NOW!

Now that Venezuela is poised for future success, it is now time for Venezuelans to take action. Many Venezuelans have been living abroad for years and have gained valuable skills, experience, and perspective. Those skills were not gained by accident. They must now be put to use.

Venezuelans who have lived overseas should return with the knowledge they acquired to help rebuild, stabilize, and regrow their country. Venezuela’s recovery will not be driven by ideology or promises, but by competence, accountability, and hard work. The people best equipped to lead that effort are those who have seen functioning systems firsthand and are willing to apply those lessons at home.

The Responsibility of EVERY Venezuelan Living Abroad:

  1. Venezuelans in the United States must prepare to return and rebuild!
Venezuelans living in the United States have gained firsthand experience with functioning government, rule of law, accountable leadership, and real economic systems. That knowledge must be taken back to Venezuela. If those who understand how stable systems work do not return, the country will be rebuilt by people who caused its collapse or by those who benefit from chaos.

  2. Venezuelans abroad must return home and run for public office.
Venezuela will need mayors, city council members, municipal administrators, governors, state legislators, National Assembly members, ministers, vice ministers, and senior civil servants. Power never remains empty. If honest and capable Venezuelans do not take these positions, corrupt actors will. Criticism without participation guarantees failure. This means that Public officials must then protect the vulnerable while rebuilding the workforce!

KEY: Those who choose to serve in office must immediately ensure proper social services for the poor, the elderly, the disabled, and children. At the same time, vocational training must be restored for working age men and women so they can find work, create jobs, and rebuild the economy. Ignoring the disadvantaged opens the door for future authoritarian leaders to exploit poverty for power.

  3. Venezuelans must serve as teachers, professors, and academic leaders.
The next generation must be taught responsible capitalism, international policy, and the real history of how destructive social movements take control of nations. Education is where long term stability is secured or destroyed.

  4. Venezuelans must start businesses within Venezuela and rebuild international trust
Economic recovery depends on private enterprise. Venezuelans abroad must start businesses and restore trade relationships with American companies they have already built trust with. These relationships bring investment, jobs, and credibility back to Venezuela and reduce dependence on centralized government control

The Responsibility of EVERY Current Resident of Venezuela:

  1. Venezuelans inside the country must expose corruption
Venezuelans currently living in Venezuela are critical to a peaceful transition. They possess insider knowledge about corruption, gang activity, and drug trafficking. They must report corrupt officials, identify criminal networks, and preserve evidence. Corruption survives only when people remain silent.

  2. Venezuelans inside Venezuela must help identify corrupt leadership
Current government leaders involved in corruption must be exposed. This step is essential to prevent the same individuals from simply repositioning themselves under a new government. A true transition requires accountability, not rebranding.

  3. The United States must help rebuild security forces
The United States should assist in rebuilding volunteer armed services and law enforcement inside Venezuela. Current soldiers and officers should be offered the opportunity to serve in newly structured forces co led by vetted Venezuelan leaders and supported by the United States. Security is required before reform can succee

What the United States Should Do Next:

  1. The United States must help rebuild security forces
The United States should assist in rebuilding volunteer armed services and law enforcement inside Venezuela. Current soldiers and officers should be offered the opportunity to serve in newly structured forces co led by vetted Venezuelan leaders and supported by the United States. Security is required before reform can succeed.

  2. Criminal gangs, cartels, and corrupt officials must face tribunals
Crimes committed by gangs, drug cartels, and corrupt officials must be prosecuted through joint military and public tribunals composed of United States and Venezuelan authorities. Those found guilty should be imprisoned in Venezuela. Individuals with outstanding international warrants must be extradited to the United States and prosecuted.

Final Warnings:

The responsibility now falls on Venezuelans everywhere. Venezuelans must be in direct contact with the United States government, senators, and representatives. They must organize, coordinate, and offer themselves as part of a coalition willing to return to Venezuela to stabilize and rebuild the country.

Failure to act will allow Venezuela to spiral into chaos.

There will be outside organizations that attempt to exploit the situation. These groups will fund gangs to destabilize communities and intimidate civilians. Some will be Islamic extremist networks. Others will be Marxist social organizations. Others will be unified drug cartels. Violence will be their primary tool.  The United States must maintain constant pressure on these groups to prevent them from gaining influence in Venezuela.

This moment will not last forever. Either Venezuelans act now, or the country will be taken over again by those who thrive on disorder.
